Dermatology Associates of Winchester Laser Hair Removal
Consultation – Laser Hair Removal Consultation
There are many different methods of hair removal available on the market but only electrolysis and laser treatments are considered a permanent solution. In addition to the confusion of which type of treatment to choose, there is the dilemma of which laser is the most effective for laser hair removal. At your complimentary consultation, the laser nurse will evaluate your skin type and hair characteristics to help you determine which technique will give you the results you are looking for. Your free consultation will not only provide you with an education about the procedure but also provide you with an estimate of the cost without any obligation to proceed. Unlike many centers providing this service, you can leave our office with absolutely no pressure to sign any type of contract.
Procedure – Laser Hair Removal Procedure
Laser hair removal can be used to treat hair on all body areas except the eyebrows (excluding a “unibrow”). After performing thousands of hair removal treatments with various lasers our laser nurse has chosen Cynosure’s Alexandrite laser as the most effective hair removal laser. The laser hair removal procedure is a multiple treatment process with an average of 5-7 treatments for most body sites. It is extremely important to have your treatments performed by a skilled and educated professional to avoid complications. Since our office is a medical setting, we can prescribe topical anesthetic to ensure a virtually painless procedure.
Recovery – Laser Hair Removal Recovery
When performed properly laser hair removal treatments have a minimal recovery time. Most treatment sites are just pink in color for 15-20 minutes. There is no pain associated with the treatment once the procedure is completed. Most patients do not have to perform any post-procedure care. Occasionally the laser nurse may recommend an ice pack or some cool aloe vera gel for the treated site. Make-up can be applied, if desired, to cover any pinkness on a treated area of the face. The combination of our highly experienced laser nurse and our state-of-the-art laser equipment has successfully minimized any risks and complications associated with the treatment.
